A touch of life at this Spa

When the week gets too much to bear and you just want that spark of rejuvenation, a one hour massage can make all the difference. That's exactly what happened when I entered Touch Life Spa in Barsha Heights. Located inside Time Oak Hotel and Suites, this wellness spot has only one centre in the UAE, and no shortage of customers. Established in 2006, the team says that its spa offers a range of services including those that can help alleviate stress.
I was trying a 60 minute relaxation massage and was keen to understand if an ache in my neck could be soothed in the process. An hour later, I was blissfully awakened by the fact that the therapist was able to put me in to a much needed state of what can only be called 'zen.' It was as if I had a 'do not disturb' sign plastered on my forehead for the rest of the day. Nothing seemed irksome for a while.
From foot reflexology to a royal hammam, Touch Life offers a range of what you'd expect from a spa. Prices range from Dhs. 250 to 500 and there's also a membership facility which many residents opt for. "We have customers from the Norther Emirate of Ajman as well and this is treated like a family span," says a passionate Alex, who manages the outlet and is delighted to clear doubts.
They also have a salt soak for tired feet which helps ensures customers maintain overall calm and balance. How you may wonder? The anti bacterial sea salts are dropped in a basin. The salts are used to eliminate toxins from one's feet ensuring that the gut is calmer. Since a happy gut, is the key to a happy mind, you will leave feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and with twinkling toes.
With so many tourists in the country, wellness centres such as this one are always eager to offer the best service to clients. "Our spa is different as we prefer to listen to our clients and then explain what their specifc requirement is to our therapist. Each treatment is adapted to the client's needs," explains Alex.
My take aways: the staff is friendly and not overtly pushing you to take treatments that you might not be ready for. There is a valet parking, a big plus for most of us. There are shower rooms for customers who might want to use them after a treatment.
If you are looking for some 'me time,' this is a venue that's highly recommended.

Abi, what a lovely piece. You have written it with such charm that I could almost feel myself sinking into that spa chair while reading. I love how you add those fun little details - the salt soak, the valet parking, and that blissful "do not disturb" feeling - that make the whole experience come alive. You have such a natural, easy way of writing that pulls the reader right in. So proud of you, sweet cousin, made even a spa review feel like a mini-vacation.
